By-Law and Enforcement Services - Junk Signs

The City of Brampton has By-Laws which govern over the placement of all signs within the City.  If a sign is placed on private property, it is the responsibility of the property owner to remove.

Junk Signs are:

  • Signs posted for garage/craft sales, dances or other community events and may be placed in a sign sleeve according to the guidelines found on the City’s website
  • Brampton has placed over 100 black plastic sign sleeves on street light and traffic poles
  • Any signs not posted on a sign sleeve may be subject to removal and a fine under the City’s By-Law
  • Flags are also considered signs

All junk signs removed by the City are placed in the garbage and are non-retrievable.
