By-Law and Enforcement Services – A-Frame Signs

There are by-laws governing all sign placement (flags are considered to be signs). Signs placed on private property are the responsibility of the property owner to remove.

A-Frame Signs are:

  • Usually used by developers
  • Require a permit sticker
  • Are only permitted from Friday at 6pm to Monday Morning
  • Are permitted on City property
  • Can be in colour and grouped together

A-Frame Signs should not:

  • block sightlines
  • interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic

A-Frame signs removed by the City are stored for 60 days and then destroyed. If within 60 days a request to have a sign returned is received there will be a per sign fee applied for the retrieval and the requestor will need to attend enforcement where the fee will be paid prior to the release of the sign(s).
